4 out of 5 stars Whole Lotta Shaking Going On   January 2, 2004

Yikes, it's really coming out again ! I bought this on vinyl for some inflated price years ago when it had already been delated because it's a great record from a chronically underappreciated band.

The death of Robert Palmer this year (2003) was a shock. He had a great solo career after leaving Vinegar Joe, but there was something about the chemistry and artistry with Elkie Brooks (who was never the same in her own solo career in my humble opinion) that made Vinegar Joe really special. When Elkie was off, it was really amazing ! Live? Wow !

With this reissue, there is again a Whole Lotta Shakin' Going On (at least on the CD player if not live).

Should you get this OR Speed Queen of Venture (the recently issued compilation of the band)?

Tough question.

But get both.
