Look nowhere else. This is the ultimate collection. Great sound -- and at a bargin.
Immortalised by Dylan November 15, 2009 Richard (Blackpool England) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
McTell was born in Thompson County Georgia which is where my penfriend former 50s country hitmaker Ginny Wright lives. She told me there's a tavern nearby with a photo of the bluesman on the wall.
He cut enough to fill at least 4 CDs and one of his songs Broke Down Engine was recorded by Dylan who wrote the tribute song about him.
Obviously Dylan knew all about McTell as a 1931 song Rough & Ready Blues-with lead vocal by one Ruth Willis-is where he found the line "lay upon my big brass bed"/Which is in the 1969 song Lay Lady Lay
