Paper Brick Maker July 10, 2009 Sea Shell (Norfolk, UK) 8 out of 8 found this review helpful
I very good product; it does exactly what it is supposed to ~ which is to make perfect newspaper bricks! It is a more innovative design than the first earlier models and the double cross-over handle makes the pressing process much easier.
I have slightly modified the item myself further; simply by adding a 1/2" thick x 3" wide by the length piece of wood under the sieve which has the effect of sqeezing out more water. As I cut and saw my own logs, I have bi-products available so also add wood shavings, sawdust and wood chips to the bricks as Im making them. This adds another dimension to their buring ability.
I have not burned any of my bricks as yet as they are still drying out but each one is reported to burn for approximately 1-2 hours.

Everyone who has a solid fuel burner of any sort should own one of these
At minimal effort, you convert guilt inducing masses of newspaper from images of logged out forests to tranquil scenes of carbon neutral, eco friendly and free fuel producing neat blocks of drying papier mache

This is great for using all my old newspapers!
Although the process can get a little messy if you overwet the paper and press down too quickly, the bricks burn really well (once dry obviously)!!!
It takes a week or two for the newspaper bricks to dry out.)
A quick tip: If you place a couple of dry sheets of newspaper over the briquette maker contraption and place balls of wet paper and card into it, you can wrap the brick up after squishing it together. You end up with a little paper parcel which holds together a lot better.

It was everything the description said it was. The only thing thats wrong is that it takes the paper a long time to dry. Other than that they burn very well in the fire.
