Incredable performance by the pride of Ireland! March 17, 2006 Tommy Tobin (Las Vegas,USA) 36 out of 38 found this review helpful
As this performance is from 1987,It's been available to the public before. I have it on vhs. Rory, the Flannel Banshee,is on this performance,at his best with the set-list to end all set-lists! Worth it's weight in GOLD!!!
Greatest guitarist ever? February 14, 2010 Jimbo (St Neots) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I first caught this on tv a few backs and always wanted it on DVD. The extras are all great with a fair few photo's and the lay out of moving around the streets of Cork is realy good.
The concert itself is amazing showcasing both Rory's electric and acoustic work, unfortunately no mandolin.
Is he the greatest guitarist ever..could be. Is he missed... very much so.
5 out of 5.
Rory Gallagher Live at the Cork Opera House February 14, 2010 David George Crossland (Hampshire uk) Had to have several pints of Guiness with this one. The music was superb but I thought the audience where a little reserved(maybe that was down to the rules of the Opera House) When I saw him in the 70's the crowd really got involved.
What a pity the great man is no longer with us RIP RG.
Much missed guitar genius November 28, 2009 D. Hunter (Maldon, Essex, UK) Originally saw this on the TV, bought it on VHS, and snapped it up when it was released on DVD. Quite brilliant, and a great representation of his later work, although NOTHING on film or record/tape/DVD could possibly replace having seen him live, as I did in 1982 and on his last tour. For those not so lucky, buy it and be both amazed and entertained.
Rory = Great January 6, 2009 Acid Shell (Eire) Rory = Great
