5 out of 5 stars Mellower, but still great   February 21, 2010

Everything about Davy Knowles is the stuff legends are made from: superb voice, exquisite instrumentals, fabulous arrangements - the man is magic.
Coming up for Air is mellower than the previous Roll Away (when Back Door Slam had different personnel)album, and maybe that's a little bit of a shame. The rawness is missing from this album; but if you take it on it's own without trying to compare it - it's up there with the best blues rock you will ever hear. Stupendous.

I write this several months after buying the album - and let me tell you, my appreciation of it just grows and grows. Still not bored after many plays, I find some new depths to the fantastic guitar solos on this album every time. For me, Davy is head and shoulders above the 99.9% of utter drivel I hear on the radio at the moment.
Buy it and enjoy.

5 out of 5 stars Brilliant guitarist and what a voice!   April 11, 2010
D. Wing (London, UK)
Was tempted and intrigued to buy this cd due to a fab review in the Sunday Times. So glad I did. Great blues-rock music. Davy is only 23 but has an amazing deep voice and his guitar playing sounds like he has 8 fingers on each hand! Has been likened to a young Peter Green and Eric Clapton in gig reviews. Remember the name "Davy Knowles and Back Door Slam" - they are gonna be big.

This young, talented musician has a great future. Already recognised as something special by his peers, this CD now makes it possible for Davy Knowles to achieve a much wider audience. Once heard you will be a fan - he is a truly exciting artist who will, in my opinion, go far!

Aftern hearing one track played on the radio, I took a chance on this album and was pleasently surprised at the overall quality.
