Sexy music November 18, 2009 Kate (UK) 21 out of 21 found this review helpful
This is a great album, and if you've been bitten (sorry) by "True Blood" the TV series its a must own. The album opens with "Bad Things - Jace Everett" the opening theme music from the series and contains a mixture of country, bluegrass and difficult to categorise, but very very good tracks with a Southern cajun feel.
Particular highlights for me were , "Bleed to Feed", "Swampblood", "Play with Fire" and "I Don't Wanna Know". "Bones" just blew me away and I've ordered a "Little Big Town" album on the strength of it. In fact all the tracks on this album are great. And I've always hated country music! The nearest to traditional country is "Lake Charles" which I didn't like to start with, but after 10 plays (and I only got it 2 days ago) even that has grown on me. I'm ordering copies for friends now.
Sunday morning and I'm sitting on the porch with my coffee, the moss swaying gently from the oak trees in the breeze and a pickup truck is coming up the drive...sorry, this is England in Autumn, its cold and horrible...but put this CD on and indoors its sultry weather in Louisiana.
Truly good July 23, 2009 PJ Rankine (Wallington, Surrey United Kingdom) 15 out of 15 found this review helpful
Its funny how your environment affects your perception of music. I first listened to this in my house whilst doing the ironing and thought it was ok. I then took the disc into the more intimate surrounding of my car and it was so different, like listening to a different album. Its an eclectic blend of country, rock and blues as featured in the series and inspired by it. The opening title song 'Bad things' by Jace Everett is the stand out track and sounds a lot like Chris Isaaks. 'Golden State' has the most vampire inspired lyrics I thought but the whole soundtrack blends so well despite the variety of genres. Get it on download though because the album is way too expensive.
Nice December 11, 2009 D. McFarlane (UK) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
The soundtrack is amazingly good and compliments the series perfectly. A nice blend of everything with an overall "True Blood = sexy and fun" tone to it.
Enjoying it very much, well worth the price.
Love at first bite! November 2, 2009 G.E.Manton (Shotton, Deeside, North Wales) 8 out of 9 found this review helpful
From the very first track, Jace Everett's amazing "Bad Things" to the very last, Bone's "Little Big Town" this cd soundtrack to the brilliant True Blood series is a must have for any fan on the TV series.
Its blues, its swamp-blues,its rock and it's everything you would expect from such a fantastic series.
