5 out of 5 stars 17 great tracks.   January 1, 2010

Gary Moore may not be the best singer in the world, but he certainly is one of the best guitarists. This album is typical of the great blues-style guitar work we expect from him. There are 17 tracks on this collection - fantastic value for Gary Moore fans.

Gary Moore is undoubtedly one of the finest guitarists ever, an 'Still Got The Blues' illustrates why perfectly. Whatever people may write on here, this is a blues album, albeit played with the skill of a rock guitarist. He plays a tribute to Albert King on 'King Of The Blues', and a tribute to SRV on 'Texas Strut'. He even plays with the famous Alberts, King and Collins, and absolutely massacres both of them.

For me, the best song on here is the title-track, with its heart-wrenching lyrics and phenomonal guitar solo (one of the best I've ever heard from anyone in my entire life.) But every song it 10/10, making this an album that you'll just keep playing and playing. Moore plays with feel, but also with unbelievable techinalc skill, and it will inspire any guitarist out there.

Get it NOW!!!

This is a great album, from laid back blues to quite fast rock, this should be in every one's collection if you like 70's - 80's rock like Led Zep, Hendrix, Deep Purple etc etc.
What more can I say, give it a go, you won't regret it, I wore my record out and am so happy it's now on CD

5 out of 5 stars Still Got The Blues ? Not After Hearing This !   May 20, 2009

This is my only Gary Moore CD & basically it's all about the title track.

As guitar playing goes it's up there with the best output of any musican.

Other than Still Got The Blues there's King Of The Blues & The Stumble.

Is one fantastic track good enough for 5 stars ? In this case, yes.

5 out of 5 stars Stands the test of time   July 10, 2007

This a great LP. It has a timeless quality to it and feels like it could have been made any time in the last 30 years.

For anyone who enjoys hearing a 'Rock Guitar' take on the blues this is essential listening. Recommended for fans of Eric Clapton, Rory Gallagher Albert King etc.

I have had it on vinyl for years and bought the remastered CD so I could rip into onto my iPod. As far as the remastering goes, there wan't much wrong with the original so the remastering wasn't strictly necessary and hasn't changed anything much, but the new tracks mesh well with the original and are worth hearing.
