| Customer Reviews: One Of The Best Blues Debuts Of All Time? I Think So.... November 29, 2003 Mr. G. Penton (Derby,UK) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
This is the album that most blues guitarists have been waiting for.Since 1990,when SRV left in that horrific helecopter accident, the guitar world has been clamouring for a new hero, someone to show the way forward,"Strong Temptation" is it. Whilst Johnny Lang & Kenny Wayne Shepherd have been drawing the large crowds & big album sales,Sean has been left with what has been acclaimed as the best debut since "Texas Flood". From the first cut,"Strong Temptation",a funky Hendrixy rocker, through a reading of Freddie King's "Me & My Guitar" and onwards, this album never stops."Shame, shame, shame"?Yeah, shame indeed that that wasn't a hit single!Sean and the band play out of their skins. They deserve to be heard. You deserve to hear them....
Texas Blues for SRV addicts December 13, 1999 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Sean Chambers is another in the line that goes from Hendrix via Stevie Ray Vaughan to the likes of Walter Trout and Kenny Wayne Shepherd. For the guitar nut its more detuned/heavy string Stratocaster (complete with chipped paint job)through overdriven valve amp.Track 3 is an almost complete take off of early Rory Gallagher. In fact there are very few guitar heroes whose styles are not included here including Gary Moore. If you like full on Chicago/Austin Texas blues then this is well worth having. Got a high rating in Total Guitar magazine.
Top Rate guitar- SRV influence, plus originality. August 7, 2001 mail@pgaifa.co.uk (London, UK) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
The mix of songs is great, giving a dynamic showcase to Sean Chamber's exceptional guitar playing. If you like rock-blues this is for you!
